The Aquatics Hastings Learn to Swim programme offers classes for pre-school and school-aged children at Flaxmere and Clive War Memorial Pools.
Classes are offered at a range of times with pre-school and water baby classes available during the day Monday to Friday. Classes for school aged children are available after school during the week and Saturday mornings.
Classes are run during the school term with breaks coinciding with the school holidays. Please note, lessons are not available on public holidays.

Lessons are $14.00 per child each week, when paid by direct debit. Terms are typically 10 weeks in length.
Learn to swim lesson payments are to be made via a direct debit. This is set up on your account portal and will come out on a Monday weekly.
This is to allow a continuous swim school set up rather than a term by term roll over system.
Payments for the term breaks will be put on hold and will then automatically start up again when the new term commences.
If your child misses three weeks or more of Learn to Swim classes, and a medical certificate is shown, we offer a credit. Please speak to a member of staff.
Change of classes and cancellations can all be done via your Portal and anytime.
Payment for the full term can be made in person at the pool if preferred ($165 per term).
Aquatics Hastings has launched an online booking platform that allows you to view available lesson times online and go through to book your ideal day and time.
You can select which pool and the suitable level for your child using the lesson descriptions and age ranges. If you are unsure which level or don't see an available class time, please contact the pool direct to discuss in more detail.
As part of the enrolment, you will need to create an account, the below instructions will help you through the registration process if needed.
Select ‘Create Account’ and walk through the prompts.
An email will arrive in your inbox to confirm your account. Please check your Junk inbox.
Follow the link in the email and follow the prompts to create a login password.
Once your account is set up, log in using your email and new password.
Discounts for registering more than two child per term cannot be processed online. Please go through the process of booking your children in to their lessons online and then get in touch with your pool to let us know and we can apply the discount.
After your payment has gone through you will receive a payment confirmation email and an email to confirm the lesson time you purchased.

Keep an eye on your childs progress as they tick off the competencies required at each level.
Login to your account on our online portal here, head to the 'Menu' at the top left of the page and then select 'Learn to Swim Classes'. You will then see the students enrolled in classes under your account. Click on the name to view the active enrolment. Use the buttons on the right to 'View progress' or 'Change day and time'. If your child has completed their current level, the next level will be available for you to select the new class time. Consider both Flaxmere and Clive War Memorial Pools for lessons as availability varies.
We understand that circumstances change and you can cancel the enrolment at any time. Cancellations can be done via email [email protected] or in person at the facility
Lessons are $14 per child each week, when paid by direct debit. Payments are taken every Monday and appear on your statement as ‘HDC Aquatics & Rec’.
Payment for the term in one payment is possible, in person at the facility. The cost is the equivalent of $16.50 per lesson multiplied by the number of lessons in the term. Note, when paying by this method, the child’s place is not held for the following term.

Teachers may change from time to time without notice due to staff availability.
Occasionally lessons may be cancelled due to water safety reasons.
If you have a direct debit plan you will see a credit applied after the cancelled class date, or you can schedule a replacement session. Your debit plan will use the credit balance before any payment is processed on your card/bank account.
If you pay up front for the term we are not able to issue a credit to your account, however you can choose a replacement session so you still get the same number of lessons each term. Please chat to our team if you require any assistance with this process.
